Pittsburgh Steelers running back Rashard Mendenhall is expected to miss at least the first six games of this upcoming season, according to Sports Illustrated.
He is recovering from a torn ACL, which required surgery. At this present time, he is not ready to play football.
Just a few days ago, Steelers GM Kevin Colbert said he expected Mendenhall to begin the year on the PUP (physically unable to play) list. Mendenhall was injured in Week 17.
“My guess is they’ll (Mendenhall and Casey Hampton) open the season on PUP,” Colbert said Friday. “You’ve got to remember both of those injuries happened late in the year.”
He played in 15 games last season and had 928 yards and had 9 rushing touchdowns.
