Due to the sanctions against legendary Penn State Nittany Lions head coach Joe Paterno, the late Grambling State Tigers head coach Eddie Robinson now has the most wins in college football at the Division I level. Paterno had surpassed Robinson’s mark in 2011.
Now, Robinson’s mark with 408 wins is the most. He first took over the Louisiana Normal School in 1941 and led the team through the 1997 season.

Paterno surpassed Robinson’s mark with a win against the Illinois Fighting Illini on October 29th, 2011.
