Jay-Z has had his name on music records for years.
However, to have his name on a video game is unique. The Brooklyn Nets part-owner has been named the executive producer of NBA 2K 13.
He reportedly will contribute to the game’s soundtrack and the game’s overall presentation. He will reportedly has recorded 24 songs for the soundtrack.
“This has been a unique opportunity to collaborate with 2K Sports and be a part of one of the best sports video games in history,” says Jay Z in a statement.
“Everything that happens on the court will always be the core of our game, but the NBA is a living, breathing entertainment product,” says Jason Argent, vice president of marketing for 2K Sports. “There’s a lot more happening within the league and sport than what happens on the court, and we’re trying to represent that.”
Jay-Z has reportedly been a fan of the game for several years. The game is expected to be released on October 2nd.
