The Awards continue to come in for the Philadelphia Soul.
On Wednesday, the Arena Football League announced that defensive back Kent Richardson was named Defensive Player of the Year. On Thursday, the league announced that wide receiver and kick returner Jeff Hughley has been named the winner of the J. Lewis Small Ironman of the Year Award.
This season, Hughley has been a big part of the Soul’s offense and the main kick returner of kick offs. He has caught 77 receptions for 1,001 yards and 19 touchdowns. He has returned 92 kicks for 1,865 yards and five touchdowns.
“Jeff is a great example of how hard work and dedication pays off,” said Soul head coach Doug Plank. “He brings an extra dimension that teams need to account for on special teams and his ability to make tacklers miss made him a threat to return any kick return or turn any reception into a touchdown.”
