The Tennessee Titans could see their future start on Friday night.
The Titans are expected to start second-year quarterback Jake Locker. It would be his first start of his career, coming against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The Titans reportedly have planned all along to alternate pre-season starts between Locker and Matt Hasselbeck. Locker outplayed Hasselbeck in Saturday’s pre-season opener.
He is expected to get about 20 snaps against the Bucs defense, before Hasselbeck comes in. Head coach Mike Munchak said that Locker is closing the gap on Hasselbeck to be the starter when the season starts in September.
If Locker starts next week, as well, it could make him the favorite for the season opener.
