When Matt Flynn signed with the Seattle Seahawks this off-season, he thought he would become the team’s starting quarterback.
Flynn was not named the team’s starter. Instead, the Seahawks have named third round pick Russell Wilson their starting quarterback for week 1.
On Friday, Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll would not officially name Wilson the starter.
“He’s done everything we’ve asked him,” Carroll said. “When (GM John Schneider) was excited about drafting him and we got the momentum going to make that pick, this is guy we hoped that he would be.”
In three pre-season games, he has gone 35-for-52 for 464 yards. He has also thrown five touchdowns to one interception in three games.
He has also rushed 10 times for a 150 yards and a touchdown.
