The Green Bay Packers were screwed on Monday Night Football.

Blown Call
People thought when would the replacement refs cost a team a game? And it happened on the biggest stage in the sport with everybody watching, and the Seattle Seahawks won 14-12 with the controversial call.

Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson threw a pass in the end zone, as time expired. Wide receiver Golden Tate fought with Packers defender M.D. Jennings for the ball.

It clearly showed that Jennings had more position of the ball than Tate. However, Tate was ruled to have come down with the Hail Mary pass in the final play of regulation.

Tate just had his arm on the ball, while Jennings had clutched the ball to his chest. As the officials rushed to see who had the ball, one signaled a touchdown and the other said interception.

The play was ruled a touchdown 10 minutes later through a video replay. The call was not overturned, even when Jennings clearly had control of the ball.

“I’ve never seen anything like that in all my years of football,” Packers coach Mike McCarthy said. “It was the most unusual football game I’ve ever been a part of.”

It was the first time in the history of Monday Night Football that a game-winning touchdown was scored as time expired in the fourth quarter.
