Pittsburgh Steelers rookie nose tackle Alameda Ta’amu has gotten into some serious trouble with the law.
Ta’amu reportedly re-enacted the plot from Nicolas Cage’s “Drive Angry” film. Early this morning, the 6-foot-3, 348-pounder hit four parked cars and nearly hit several police officers.
He reportedly hit those cars after leaving a traffic stop. As Ta’amu came towards two police officers, they drew their guns at him.
However, they did not shot at the rookie, because of the large number of people on the sidewalk. They also said they did not shoot, because of the large number of people on the roadways at the time.
He stopped after hitting a fifth car. He totally wrecked his vehicle in the process after his moments of craziness.
In addition, he attempted to run away from the scene and removed his shirt when he left his own vehicle. He apparently wanted to throw the cops off of his trail by running away.
He faces 15 criminal charges, which includes several felonies and a DUI charge. He had a .196 blood alcohol level. He has a preliminary hearing on October 23rd.
He hasn’t played this season after being a fourth-round pick in this year’s NFL draft. He will likely be released by the team in the coming days, as Steelers management have a history of getting rid of players that get in trouble with the law or no longer play the game the Steeler way.
