The West Virginia Mountaineers have re-signed men’s basketball head coach Bob Huggins to an extension.
His new contract goes through the 2017-2018 season. After the contract, he will be given a five-year Emeritus role if he steps down as the Mountaineers head coach.
He is expected to make $3 million this season. But should be retire after the 2017-2018 season, he will be paid $50,00 per year in his deal that ends after the 2023 season.
He is currently in his sixth year of coaching the Mountaineers. He has led his alma mater to the NCAA Tournament for six straight years, including the 2010 Final Four.
