Collin Klein, a Kansas State senior quarterback, took time to do an interview with The Capital Sports Report in the Heisman press conference.

TCSR: What are your thoughts on the Heisman?

CK: “It has been a great opportunity. I have met two great athletes, and this is very special. These guys are very appreciative, as well. It has been a great experience to represent Kansas State right now.”

TCSR: Could you talk about being on the same team with your brother?

CK: “We played together in high school, and now, we get to play together at Kansas State. I had a coaching change when Bill Snyder came back, which was difficult. But now, it has been a great experience with so many great times at K-State.”

TCSR: If you heard your named called tonight, what would it be like?

CK: “I have dreamed about this all the way back since high school. I would also be overwhelmed. It is a once in a lifetime opportunity to be here, and to play football with so many people that have supported me along the way.”

TCSR: You are the first K-State player to attend the Heisman since Michael Bishop in 1999. Could you talk about being the second?

CK: “Well, Michael was very good in his time. I have watched film on him, but this is something that I have dreamt about for years. It would be an honor to win this, but there are two other great players here.”

TCSR: What are your thoughts in your final game?

CK: “I’m trying not to think about it to be honest. I have one final moment that will play out in a K-State uniform. I want my legacy to be remembered as somebody that gave it everything they had on the field.”
