John Force Racing has primarily been a Funny Car team. Not anymore, as the team has finally added a Top Fuel Dragster.

Brittany Force was announced as the latest addition to John Force Racing, Inc. at a press conference on Thursday at the John Force Racing corporate headquarters in Yorba Linda, California.

Force will drive the Castrol Edge Top Fuel Dragster. Her dragster will be tuned by Dean “Guido” Antonelli and assistant crew chief Eric Lane.

“It really is a big honor to be the first to drive a Top Fuel dragster at John Force Racing,” said the 26-year-old who will be the third Force daughter to turn pro. “This team has done so much over the years to evolve and adding a Top Fuel car into the mix I believe will help us continue to grow as a team.

“Being able to drive the first JFR Top Fuel dragster with my dad’s support and with Castrol EDGE as my sponsor is still very surreal to me but I think it’s something we’re all excited about and I’m going to do the best job that I can.”

The Cal State Fullerton graduate is the second youngest of the four Force daughters. With this announcement, her teaching career has been put on hold.

Instead of going to a classroom to work, Force will now have a 330 mph hot rod as her office.

“My plan from the very beginning was to go to college and earn a Bachelor’s Degree before really pursuing racing,” Brittany said. “I earned my B.A. in English and then did an extra year to earn my teaching credential. I never had intentions to go right into teaching, I just wanted to get school finished because I knew that if I took a break from it, I would never go back to finish.”

John Force Racing now has four drivers. Three of them are in Funny Cars – John Force, Robert Hight, and Courtney Force.
