“Feels great to be the Intercontinental Champion once again,” Barrett said on Twitter after the win. “I’m battered and bloody, but have Gold Against The Soul. #BarrettBarrage.”

Before losing the belt at WrestleMania 29, Barrett had held the belt for 99 days.

At this time, the Intercontinental Championship is the only belt that Barrett has won in the WWE. Before joining the WWE, he was the FCW Florida Tag Team Champion twice with Drew McIntyre when the tag team was known as The Empire.

He was also the OVW Southern Tag Team Champions when with Paul Burchill. When Barrett won the FCW and OVW Tag Team Championships, he was known as Stu Sanders.

The first time that Barrett won the belt, he defeated Kofi Kingston from Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio on Friday Night Smackdown on March 22nd, 2011.

He lost the belt on June 19th, 2011 at the WWE Capitol Punishment Pay Per View to Ezekiel Jackson.

When Barrett began the 99 days as champion during his second run with the title, he won the belt from Kingston on Monday Night Raw from the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C. on December 29th, 2012.
