One year ago, Sergei Bobrovsky was moved. He was traded from the Philadelphia Flyers to the Columbus Blue Jackets.

According to TSN’s Darren Dreger, Bobrovsky may be moved one away again — this time from Columbus to another team.

The Blue Jackets are reportedly shopping Bobrovsky due to his asking price of $6 million for a new contract. The team is reportedly not close with his terms.

Bobrovsky won the Vezina Trophy in his first season as a starter. Before coming to Columbus, he was the Flyers’ backup.

According to reports, Bobrovsky also has an offer to join the Kontinental Hockey League in Russia. While the reports suggest that he may be intrigued with an opportunity to go back home, he wants to stay in the NHL.

This season as their starter, Bobrovsky has proved to be one of their best players — if not their best player. And due to the Blue Jackets being a small market team, they have not been successful in retaining their key players.

Previously, Rick Nash, Jeff Carter, and others have left the Blue Jackets for other teams.

The argument from the Blue Jackets may be that he doesn’t deserve a high asking price due to being a starter for just one season. He did not have an opportunity to reach his potential in Philadelphia.

While the Flyers need a goalie now following their buyout of Ilya Bryzgalov, it doesn’t appear like GM Paul Holmgren will make a deal. Now, with his success, Holmgren will be hit with a large asking price.

The Flyers may make Braydon Coburn available in a potential deal, but it would cost so much more. It is unclear if the Jackets would like to take him back in a trade.

Right now, the Flyers only have Steve Mason in the net, who was acquired from the Blue Jackets in a trade deadline deal several months ago.

Last season, Bobrovsky was 21-11-6 and had a .932 save percentage. He also had a 2.00 goals-against average.

In his two seasons with the Flyers, he had a .899 save percentage and a 3.02 goals-against average.

If Bobrovsky is dealt, the Jackets would count on Oscar Dansk, who is in their system. The Jackets are also interested in Zachary Fucale, who is expected to go early in the first round of today’s 3 pm NHL Entry Level Draft.
