The Philadelphia Eagles now have a huge question mark in their starting lineup.

That question came into focus after Jeremy Maclin went down with a torn ACL – and the Eagles also believe he has a torn MCL – in practice on Saturday. He may show up on crutches at the Eagles practice at Lincoln Financial Field for the open practice.

If he does, that may turn out to be only a few opportunities that the Eagles get to see their starting wide receiver this year. He may show up at games later this year to be on the sideline to give moral support to his teammates.

But, as of now, the Eagles have a need at wide receiver. Riley Cooper is expected to get the call now – but it won’t last long.

The Eagles have already began to look at free agent wide receivers. Two wide receivers that immediately received a call was free agent Brandon Lloyd and Laurent Robinson.

Brandon Lloyd would be the favorite to sign with the Eagles more than Robinson for Chip Kelly’s high octane offense. Lloyd is more of a deep threat and is healthy, while Robinson has suffered multiple concussions in his short career – and that led the Jaguars to release him in March.

Earlier this week, Robinson worked out for the New York Jets. That was before the Jets signed Braylon Edwards.

Lloyd played in all 16 games last season, and had 74 receptions. He also had 911 yards and 4 touchdowns.

Over the past three seasons, he has averaged more than 70 receptions in a season. He has also averaged more than 911 yards per year.

Prior to the 2010 season, his best season came in 2005 with the San Francisco 49ers. In that season, he had 48 receptions for 733 yards and five touchdowns.

His best season came in 2010 with the Denver Broncos, where he had 77 receptions for 1,448 yards. He also had 11 touchdowns that season.

Robinson, who would be only an option if Lloyd says no, missed 9 games last season with the Jacksonville Jaguars. He only played in 7 games, and had 24 receptions for 252 yards. He did not have a touchdown, either.

His career year came in 2011 in his lone season with the Dallas Cowboys. He had 54 receptions for 858 yards and 11 touchdowns.

He had two 30 plus receptions season in his career, and only had two seasons above 400 receiving yards. Besides his breakthrough season in 2011 with the Cowboys, he had 437 yards as a rookie in 2007 with the Atlanta Falcons.

Robinson only has 15 total touchdowns in his career. He has not had a receiving touchdown since the 2011 season.
