The Green Bay Packers thought if Bryan Bulaga got a second opinion, his injury may not be as serious.
But the second opinion was the same as the first, and Bulaga is out for the year. He will now have surgery after tearing his ACL.
At one time during seeing doctors, he thought about playing through the injury like Logan Mankins did two years ago. But doctos told him that was not a good idea.
He will have to have the surgery once the swelling goes down on his knee. Once the surgery is complete, he will also have to go through rehab.
After Mankins had his ACL surgery, he has stayed one of the best offensive lineman in the game with the New England Patriots. At one time, in August 2011, Mankins had the largest contract in the NFL for a guard or lineman.
Like Mankins, Bulaga should make a smooth recovery from this. He should be in good shape to return in 2014.
