The Baltimore Ravens are off to a .500 record after winning the Super Bowl last year.
While they had a turnover in the off-season, now they made an out of the blue trade to acquire a left tackle. The Ravens have sent multiple third-day picks to the Jacksonville Jaguars for Eugene Monroe.
Monroe could turn out to be the best left tackle the organization has had since Jonathan Ogden protected quarterbacks for over a decade. He is one of the best young left tackles in the game; however, he was not being recognized since he was stuck in Jacksonville.
He did struggle with the Jags, but is expected to rebuild in Baltimore. He was graded out as the 10th best left tackle last season by Pro Football Focus.
He is in the final year of his rookie contract. But look for the Ravens to work out a long-term deal with Monroe’s representatives.
He will replace Bryant McKinnie, who will be benched, or potentially released in the future. Michael Oher will stay the Ravens right tackle.
Monroe is 26-years-old, but the Jags have been wanting to make Luke Joeckel the starter. And now with this trade, Joeckel will take over the Jags left tackle.
