Orlando Predators head coach Doug Plank has resigned. According to Local 6 Sports Director David Pingalore, he was informed that Plank left the team on Thursday night.

Plank, who was in his first season with the team, took the team to the Arena Football League playoffs. Plank told Pingalore, “he thought it was time to move on.”

Prior to becoming the Predators head coach, he was the Philadelphia Soul’s head coach. He resigned as their head coach in August 2012.

When Plank took over the team was 4-14 in 2012. During the 2013 season, the team lost its first five games of the season.

They would rebound and make the playoffs, before being eliminated in the first-round.

The Predators lost 59-55 on August 3, 2013 at the Wells Fargo Center. Orlando was leading 34-31 at halftime, before the Soul responded with a 21-point third quarter.

The Predators scored just 21 points in the second-half of the game, while Philadelphia had 28.
