The Florida Gators were expected to make changed after their first losing season in nearly four decades.
While head coach Will Muschamp has escaped with his job, it hasn’t ended well for his assistant coaches. Muschamp has fired offensive coordinator Brent Pease today after their first losing season since 1979.
The Gators started the season off good with a four game win streak. Then, things started to go downhill fast, as injuries started to mount, especially to key offensive and defensive players.
Pease was fired one day after the season ended for the Gators. The Gators finished with a 4-8 record.
He came to the Gators for the 2012 season after being the offensive coordinator at Boise State for the 2011 season. He was with Boise State since the 2006 season.
In his two seasons in Gainesville, his offense was not in the Top 100 in scoring offense or pass offense.
The Gators were a 112th in the nation in total offense.
