This was Hornish Jr.’s first win of the season. It was also his first win since the 2013 race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway when he won the Sam’s Town 300 on March 9th, 2013, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
In his three Nationwide Series wins, Hornish Jr. has won with three separate sponsorship deals. In 2011, at Phoenix, he won with the Alliance Truck Parts sponsorship for Team Penske.
In 2013, he had the Wurth sponsorship on the car with the win also under Team Penske. Then, this win was with Monster Energy and Joe Gibbs Racing.
Blaney led 80 laps in his Discount Tire entry for Team Penske. TaxSlayer.com/Great Clips sponsored driver Regan Smith finished third.
Pizza Ranch sponsored driver Michael McDowell was the only other driver to lead any laps. He led three laps.
