The Cleveland Browns continue to add to their wide receiver corps.
Last week, the Browns added Miles Austin, who was previously with the Dallas Cowboys. Today, the team has added Anthony Armstrong, previously with the Washington Redskins.
Austin is expected to be the Browns lead receiver, as Josh Gordon continues to appeal his year-long suspension. The team is expecting for the worse in the Gordon situation.
Armstrong is 31-years-old, and is a 5’11 speedster. He has ties to new Browns offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan, who was with him when his father, Michael, was the Redskins head coach.
The Browns will be in trouble if they had to give Armstrong regular snaps.
He participated in voluntary workouts with the Redskins earlier this month. He also worked out with the Skins in April in hopes of staying with them.
He played in 29 games in 2010 and 2011 with the Skins, before splitting time with three teams in 2012. He had just three receptions for 12 yards in 6 games that season.
He was not on a roster last season.
