The Memphis Grizzlies made major changes to their front office.
Grizzlies CEO Jason Levien and Assistant GM Stu Lash lost their jobs in the changes. Team owner Robert Pera has been clashing with Levien, which resulted in his abrupt resignation.
Things must have gotten so bad that they couldn’t work together. Almost two years ago, Levien helped Pera purchase the Grizzlies from former owner Michael Heisley in June 2012.
These moves come one year after the team fired head coach Lionel Hollins after he took the team to the Western Conference Finals. Current head coach Dave Joerger’s future is up in the air right now, as well, with these changes.
Also former writer John Hollinger, who was serving as the Vice President of Basketball Operations, has his future uncertain, as well. Longtime NBA GM Chris Wallace will serve as the team’s interim basketball operations point person.
