Tiger Woods is not sure that he will be able to play in the U.S. Open on June 12th.

Woods is not sure when he’ll be back on the PGA Tour. He is still recovering from back surgery to a pinched nerve that he had back in April.

“It’s a little too soon,” Woods said. “Chipping and putting, so that’s nice.”

While he’s making progress, he is taking his time on when he’ll potentially return to the tour. There’s speculation that he’ll return at some point this summer.

“I miss playing,” Woods said. “I miss being on the golf course. I miss the game. Forget about competing at the highest level.

“It’s not a lot of fun. There are a lot of tedious exercises. Back injuries are no joke. It is slow, and I just have to make sure I do it right.”

He last competed on the tour on March 9th. He also lost his No. 1 ranking this morning when he was replaced by Adam Scott.

“Prior to the surgery, I didn’t think I’d have much of a playing career,” Woods added. “Now I’ve had the procedure and I’m excited about my career.”
