The Philadelphia Soul have signed wide receiver Emery Sammons.
Sammons is returning to the Soul, where he played during the 2012 and 2013 seasons. It will be easy for him to transition to the Soul’s offensive system, especially when he’s missed time this season, since he already knows the system.
He had 48 receptions for 598 yards and eight touchdowns in 2012. Last season, he had 10 receptions for 125 yards and a touchdown.
Prior to arriving in Philadelphia, he spent two seasons with the Spokane Shock. In those two years, he had 85 receptions for 973 yards and 11 touchdowns.
He won the 2010 ArenaBowl Championship with the Shock.
He came to the Arena Football League from the now-defunct af2, where he played for the Manchester Wolves for two seasons in 2008 and 2009. He had 102 receptions for 1,146 yards and 28 touchdowns with the Wolves.
He also went to two NFL mini-camps with the Philadelphia Eagles.
