Indy Lights driver Chase Austin has crashed in the Indy Lights Freedom 100. Austin crashed between turns One and Two, and had a difficult time getting out of his car.
He got loose before crashing into tires and the wall at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

The NBC Sports Network has said that he’s out of the car. In addition, the medical staff at Indianapolis Motor Speedway is working with Austin.

His car was destroyed in the crash. He started the race in the 7th position.
He was driving the No. 0 car and will finish in 11th place. He completed 14 laps at the time of the crash.
He is a one-timer in the Indy Lights Series. He has previous experience driving in NASCAR with the Camping World Truck Series.
Once we receive more information on Austin’s condition, we will share additional stories. Right now, there is limited information on his condition, as the IndyCar Series may not know enough yet to release an update.
Austin also made one start in the Indy Lights Series in 2013. He made two starts each in 2011 and 2012 in the series.

Four of Austin’s six starts came at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. He also made two starts in Iowa in 2011 and 2012.
His best finish was 8th in the series. He achieved this in back-to-back races in 2012 in Iowa and Indianapolis.
