This week, many of the NHRA drivers are off after being on the road for three straight weekends. First, the NHRA raced at the NHRA Southern Nationals at Atlanta Dragway in Commerce, Georgia, before heading to the NHRA Kansas Nationals at Heartland Park Topeka in Topeka, Kansas.
Last weekend, they finished their crazy schedule by racing at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park in Englishtown, New Jersey.

For two popular drivers, they did not have a weekend off, as they were still racing. They’re racing at historic Lucas Oil Raceway in Indianapolis this evening in Brownsburg, Indiana.

Cruz Pedregon, the pilot of the Snap-On Funny Car, who won the Toyota NHRA Summernationals in Englishtown, faced NAPA Know How Funny Car pilot Ron Capps. While they were racing in the Good Guys race, neither raced their cars at this event.
Instead, they went vintage, as Capps was driving the 1977 Crop Duster Funny Car while Pedregon was driving the 1977 California Charger Funny Car. Much like when they race on the NHRA circuit, this was a close race that Capps would eventually pull out the win.
Capps went 5.97 to Pedregon’s 6.08 at the Indiana-based track. No mph was given by Capps in his social media post.

This race was just for fun, but these two veteran drivers will be back on tour doing battle with fellow Funny Car drivers soon.
At press time, we do not know what happened after this first-round matchup. If we get additional information on the rest of the race, we will provide it.
