During the six-game stretch with the team, he had two assists and 15 penalty minutes.

Before this season, Pinizzotto had not appeared in an NHL game since the 2011-12 season with the Vancouver Canucks. He played in 12 games with the Canucks.

He also had nine shots on goal. However, during his tenure there, he did not register a point.

The Oilers had acquired Pinizzotto in a trade with the Florida Panthers on January 16th, 2014. In exchange for Pinizzotto, the Panthers received Ryan Martindale.

In addition to playing for the Oilers, he also played in 30 games for the Oklahoma City Barons in the American Hockey League. He had six goals. Pinizzotto also had 12 assists for a total of 18 points.

He has spent the bulk of his career in the American Hockey League. His roots in that league date back to the 2006-07 season when he began playing for the Hershey Bears.

Being that Pinizzotto saw limited time with the Oilers this past season, he may see limited time if he makes the team next season. While he is signed, there is no guarantee that he will actually make the roster.

There have been many times that a player signed with a team, then several weeks to months later, he was released. If he fails to make the roster, Pinizzotto may be headed back to the American Hockey League.
