Last night, the Philadelphia Soul were destroyed with injuries.
They had four players go down with injuries against the Pittsburgh Power, and two players get ejected from playing defense after picking up two off-sides penalties in Bryan Robinson and T.J. Langley. The Soul were down to down to 15 players, and tried to continue to battle, before losing 57-56 to the Power, who improved to 10-3, while the Soul dropped to 6-7.
Tom Goodhines, the Soul’s general manager, will have to add a few players before the Soul’s game with the Cleveland Gladiators this Saturday at the Wells Fargo Center. One of those players haven’t played for the Soul this season.
Christian Johnson attempted to make the Arizona Cardinals roster, but was released by the team on June 9th. He is expected to be back with the Soul this week.
The 27-year-old Johnson was on the “Other League Exempt” with the Soul. He has been a key piece of the Soul’s offensive line in 2012 and 2013.
