The Chicago Sky has announced guard/forward Elena Delle Donne has traveled back to Delaware, where her family lives. She traveled back home to receive treatment for Lyme disease.
This disease is caused by the bacterium Borrelia burgdorferi and is transmitted to humans through the bite of infected black-legged ticks, according to the CDC. According to Google, Lyme disease is treated with antibiotics. Treatment may last between 2-4 weeks.

The typical symptoms include fever, headaches, fatigue, and a characteristic skin rash called erythema migrans. Her progress will be monitored by doctors.
