Trout and Derek Jeter were the lone American League All-Stars with two hits. Jeter went 2-for-2 with a run in his final All-Star game.

Trout, who batted second, grew up a fan of Jeter’s. This is Jeter’s final MLB All-Star Game.

According to ESPN Stats & Info, Trout is the second-youngest player to win the award. Trout was 22 years and 342 days old when he won the award.

The youngest MLB All-Star Game MVP was Ken Griffey Jr. when he was 22 years and 236 days old. Griffey Jr. won the MLB All-Star Game MVP during the 1992 season.
