Jerry Savoie is usually chasing gators when he’s not at the race track. Instead of chasing Gators on Saturday, Savoie was able to chase down fellow Pro Stock Motorcycle drivers.
At the NHRA Sonoma Nationals, Savoie was able to pick up his first No. 1 qualifier in his racing career. In his Suzuki, he raced to a 6.810 at 197.86 for the top spot.
“We ran good over here last year,” Savoie said. “It’s a really fast track, but for a Suzuki to go an .81 is really really strong.”
Eddie Krawiec qualified second in his Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson after going 6.814 at 195.59. His teammate Andrew Hines qualified third with a 6.818 at 195.79.
Hines is looking for his third straight win tomorrow. He also won the Miramonte Pro Bike Battle over Scotty Pollacheck today for $25,000.
Pollacheck is in the fourth spot with his 6.841 at 195.85. John Hall, who had the provisional No. 1 qualifier last night, is now fifth with his 6.850 at 196.13.
