Hendrick Motorsports race car driver Jeff Gordon has achieved 1,000 laps led on Sunday at Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, Pennsylvania. He achieved this mark in the 84th lap during the GoBowling.com 400.

No other driver has achieved this mark at the tricky triangle. He came into Pocono off a high, as he won the prestigious Brickyard 400 last weekend in Indianapolis.

In 47 starts, he has secured 20 top-five finishes and 32 top-10 finishes. His first win at the track came in 1996.
