New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees has a new weapon at least for the remainder of training camp.
The Saints have added free agent tight end Travis Beckum today. He is expected to be a camp body for now behind star Jimmy Graham and Ben Watson.
He replaces Richard Quinn, who retired from the NFL earlier this week. The 27-year-old last played in the NFL in 2012 with the New York Giants.
With the Giants from 2009 through 2012, he played in 48 games with 26 receptions for 264 yards and three touchdowns.
His last season in 2012, he played in just 4 games with zero receptions.
Beckum has had a crazy off-season, as he was signed by the Seattle Seahawks in February, then was released by them on May 19th. In July, he worked out for the Chicago Bears, but was not able to make the team.
