Australia picks up their first win at the LLWS

The feel-good story of the Little League World Series was Mo’Ne Davis and her Taney team won their debut game 4-0. Today, the Australian Little League made its own history.

They were able to beat the Czech Republic, 10-1, to win their first game by any Australian team that played in South Williamsport, PA. The previous teams were 0-4 before breaking the barrier today.

The current Australian team is 1-1, and will play at least one more game at the World Series. The Czech Republic has been eliminated from championship contention, yet they will play one more exhibition before going back home.

Australia had a two-run lead going into the fifth inning. Following the fifth inning, it was 7-0 for the team from Perth, Australia.

The Czech Republic scored a run in the bottom of the fifth inning to make it 7-1. In the top of the sixth inning, Australia added 3 runs to make it 10-1.

The Australian team represents Perth Metro North Little League. The Czech Republic team represents South Moravia Little League in Brno, Czech Republic.

This was the second game for both teams. South Korea defeated Czech Republic in the first game of the tournament in a 10-3 loss.

Australia was defeated 16-3 to Puerto Rico in the third game in four innings.

This game was the ninth game in the tournament. It was the first game in the lower round of the International bracket.
