Ryan Bader has defeated Ovince Saint Preux in the Light Heavyweight Main Event on UFC Fight Night on Fox Sports 1 in Bangor, Maine. Bader wore down OSP with a career-high 10 takedowns, which helped build Bader’s confidence.
Bader won by unanimous decision with the judges voting 48-47, 49-46, and 49-46. This is his third straight win, while OSP dropped his first match in his past six bouts.
“I love being here in Maine,” Bader said following his win. “This is a new market for us. I got it done.”
Bader improved to 18-4-0 in his mixed martial arts career, while OSP dropped to 16-6-0.
With the loss, expect Saint Preux to drop in the light heavyweight standings, as he was tenth coming into the match. He joins Fabio Maldonado, who also dropped in the standings, as he was fifteenth.
Bader, who was noncommittal on his next opponent, could face anyone from fourth through seventh in his next fight. These opponents include Glover Teixeira (4th), Anthony Johnson (5th), Phil Davis (6th), and Dan Henderson (7th).
