The Cincinnati Bengals continue to re-sign their young talent to long-term deals. Recently, the team re-signed quarterback Andy Dalton to a new deal.
Minutes ago, the team re-signed linebacker Vontaze Burfict to a four-year, $20.05 million. This contract has $19 million in base salary and a $7 million signing bonus, according to NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport.
His contract also has incentives that include if he makes future Pro Bowl appearances.
Last season was a breakout season for Burfict, who was apart of the NFL’s third-ranked defense. He led the NFL in tackles and looked better even without All-Pro defensive tackle Geno Atkins, who was lost in the middle of season.
He came to the Bengals from Arizona State, where he was under after in 2012.
