McCoy will not return to the Eagles vs. Steelers game with a sprained thumb

Philadelphia Eagles running back LeSean McCoy will not return in tonight’s game.

McCoy, who has seen little action this preseason, injured his thumb in the first quarter. McCoy2

It is not clear when the star back suffered the injury. He was hit hard by Steelers linebacker Lawrence Timmons, who dropped McCoy for a five-yard loss.

Following the play, McCoy removed his self from the game for a play, then returned on the next possession. On this possession, he caught a 22-yard touchdown from Nick Foles.

After the touchdown, McCoy went into the locker room to get checked out.
