The Pittsburgh Steelers have signed corner back Cortez Allen to a new contract before the team starts their regular season tomorrow. Allen’s extension is for the next 5-years and worth a little more than $26 million.
The 25-year-old was entering the final year of his rookie deal. He’s the Steelers No. 1 corner this season, and will keep him with the team through the 2018 campaign.
He was selected by the team with the 128th overall pick in the fourth round of the 2011 NFL draft. He has made 11 starts in 44 regular season games.
Allen is entering his fourth NFL season, and started a career-high eight games last season. He played in 14 games overall, and had a personal-best 51 tackles.
He added 14 pass deflects and two interceptions.
