According to The Tennessean, former Tennessee Titans kicker Rob Bironas has passed away. He was killed in a car accident.
Bironas was 36 at the time of his death. The accident happened overnight in the Nashville, Tennessee area.
According to the police in the story, Bironas crashed on the 800 block of Battery Lane around 11 pm. This was a single-car accident.

He allegedly lost control of his vehicle when he was speeding. As a result, the SUV went off the road and then hit several trees.
Eventually, the vehicle came to a stop in a drainage culvert. The police report said the car was found upside down.
Once the authorities and medical personnel arrived, they were able to remove Bironas from his vehicle. He was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he was dead once he arrived at the hospital.
Don Aaron, the Nashville Metro Police spokesman, believes Bironas was traveling to his house, which was nearby when the accident happened.
Aaron said that it is not believed that alcohol was part of the scene.

He was recently married as he married Pro Football Hall of Famer Terry Bradshaw’s daughter Rachel this past June.
Bironas spent nine seasons with the Titans. However, he was released by the team this past March.
“We are deeply saddened to hear the tragic news from last night about Rob Bironas,” the Titans said in a statement. “Rob made a significant impact as a player in his nine years with the team and more importantly touched many lives in the Nashville community off the field. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his wife, Rachel, and his family during this very difficult time.”
