Allen misses his first game since 2007, snapping a streak of 113 straight starts

The Chicago Bears has announced that defensive end Jared Allen will miss today’s game. The defensive end was questionable all week after dealing with an illness.

This is a huge loss to the Bears defense. He will be replaced by Willie Young opposite LaMarr Houston.

Allen will have his streak of a 113 straight starts snapped following today’s inactive against the Green Bay Packers. He hasn’t missed a game since the 2007 season.

In that season, he missed two games, and this is only the 4th game that he has missed in his career. He has started 160 games in his 11-year career.

In his long career, he has 565 tackles and a 128.5 sacks. He also has 30 forced fumbles and 17 fumble recoveries.
