Erica Enders-Stevens has the provisional top spot in Pro Stock at the Auto Plus NHRA Nationals at Maple Grove Raceway. She went 6.513 at 211.76 in her Elite Performance Chevy Camaro in the first day of qualifying.
“All those little bonus points are definitely helpful at this crucial point in the Countdown,” said Enders-Stevens. “I’m really excited and proud of my team. We had a good baseline run the first session and stay No. 2. I’m really proud of my crew chiefs, they did a really great job.”
Shane Gray in his Chevy Camaro qualified second at 6.521 at 211.59, while his brother and Rookie of the Year candidate Jonathan Gray went 6.541 at 211.06.
Jeg Coughlin Jr., who won the Pro Stock Championship last year, is currently fourth at 6.542 at 211.30. Vincent Nobile is fifth at 6.554 at 211.36, while Jason Line is sixth at 6.554 at 211.06.
Vieri (V.) Gaines is seventh in his Dodge Avenger with a 6.557 at 211.00 run. Dave Connolly, who has won the past two races, is eighth at 6.557 at 210.93. Greg Anderson, who missed out on the Countdown to the Championship this year, is ninth with a 6.558 at 210.93 run.
Richie Stevens, the husband to Erica Enders-Stevens, is presently 10th at 6.562 at 211.56. Rodger Brogdon is eleventh at 6.589 at 210.64. Larry Morgan has the final qualified spot at 6.610 at 209.49.
John Gaydosh Jr. leads the drivers who are presently not qualified for the race. He is presently 13th at 6.618 at 209.79, while Kenny Delco is 14th at 6.635 at 208.55.
Frank Gugliotta is 15th at 6.719 at 202.64. Travis Mazza is 16th at 6.731 at 202.39, while Val Smeland is 17th at 6.855 at 201.79. Allen Johnson, who is the 2012 Pro Stock Champion, is in the 18th position at 7.313 at 136.23.
