Denver Broncos second-year running back Montee Ball has been dealing with a major groin injury. As the days have gone on, his diagnosis has changed and will miss more time.

Originally, it was reported this past Monday that he would be out 2-3 weeks. Now, Fox Sports NFL Insider Jay Glazer says Ball is dealing with a separated groin attachment.

He adds that Ball’s attachment has been tore from the bone, and will now miss 3-4 weeks.

Ball is inactive today for the Broncos as they start their 1 pm game at MetLife Stadium against the New York Jets. This past Monday, it was revealed that he would not need surgery, but would need it to heal by itself.

With Ball out, Ronnie Hillman is starting in his place. Ball played in four games this season, where he had 55 carries for 172 yards and a touchdown.

He also has 9 receptions for 62 yards.
