The Splash Brothers are going to be with the Golden State Warriors for a long time.
With Stephen Curry under contract, the team has re-signed Klay Thompson to a four-year contract extension. His new deal will pay him close to $70 million.
He had to sign a contract with the Warriors today, or become a restricted free agent. But the Warriors would not let that happen, as they have even turned down trades for him.
The Sacramento Kings reportedly tried to trade for him before this agreement was reached. The Kings were willing to give up everybody, except for DeMarcus Cousins and Rudy Gay in a potential deal when they called the Warriors.
Even the team refused to trade Thompson in trade talks for Kevin Love this summer when the Minnesota Timberwolves tried to get Thompson. That was before Love eventually was traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers in a blockbuster for Andrew Wiggins and Anthony Bennett.
Last season, he averaged 18.4 points per game. He was second on the team in scoring, only behind Curry.
