Pierce ejected for arguing with the refs in the Wizards home opener

Paul Pierce was a key signing for the Washington Wizards this off-season for the young team to add leadership to the team. However, he did not last long in the team’s home opener.

He was ejected and went 0-for-3 with two points against the Milwaukee Bucks before getting the toss out of the game. He also had three rebounds, four assists, and one steal at the time he was sent back to the locker room.

He received a technical once he argued a clear-path foul that he did not agree with. It was sent packing right before halftime.

He picked up his first technical arguing a call for a clear-path foul call on him. A few seconds later, he picked up his second tech and was thrown out.

After being thrown out of the game, he walked slowly off the court. He had his arms by his side, then walked to head coach Randy Wittman.

Following that, he went to sit on the bench. While on the bench, Referee Jason Phillips walked over to him and told him that he had to leave the floor.

Before signing with the Wizards, Paul played 15 seasons with the Boston Celtics. He also played one season with the Brooklyn Nets.

In the lone season with the Nets, he averaged 13.5 points per game. The Wizards are hoping that he can do nearly the same during his tenure in Washington, D.C.
