The Tampa Bay Buccaneers considered trading running back Doug Martin at the trade deadline, before they couldn’t make a deal. The team was willing to deal Martin after being high on rookie back Charles Sims.

The rookie, who could have come back this week, will now wait until Week 10 to play. He is expected to be available only in emergencies.

Sims, who was just activated yesterday, is expected to be unleashed that week. In Week 10, the Bucs have a re-match with the Atlanta Falcons, who torched the Bucs to a 56-14 win earlier this year.

Bobby Rainey will continue to be the lead back today against the Cleveland Browns.
