On Saturday, the day before the Detroit Lions played the Atlanta Falcons in London, England, the Lions sent Defensive Tackle C.J. Mosley home. It was called a violation of team rules.

However, it wasn’t known until now as to why he was sent him and got a two-game suspension. ESPN’s Chris Mortensen is reporting that Mosley was sent home after he was caught with marijuana in his hotel room.

He allegedly tried to disabled a smoke detector in his room. While attempting to do that, the alarm went off and the team was told about the situation.

Mosley will have to enter into the NFL’s Substance Abuse Policy now, as players have been suspended for marijuana usage before.
