Trey Canard won the 450 Main Event at Petco Park in San Diego, California. It is Canard’s second wins in the past three starts this season.

In addition, it is the second time in his AMA Supercross career that he has two wins in a season. The other time came in 2011 when he began his professional career.

“It’s a long ways to go with a lot of racing to go,” Canard said. “I have to give all the glory to the Lord. I’m also so grateful to the Honda team.

“I don’t know how I held him (Ken Roczen) off. I just wanted to ride smooth, and I didn’t want to make any mistakes. I’m having a lot of fun out there.”

Roczen began the main as the leader, then was beat by Canard in the fourth lap. He would hold onto the lead over the next 16 laps.

Canard went 55.568 in the second lap to close the margin on Roczen, before passing him two laps later.

Roczen was the second place finisher. He was 1.001 seconds behind Canard at the finish line.

“Overall, it was a good race,” Roczen stated. “I made too many mistakes, and that cost me big time. I wish we would have had another lap, because I didn’t know how many laps we went through until I saw the finish line. It’s good to be back on the podium, though.”

Ryan Dungey, who won last weekend’s 450 Main Event, finished third. This was his fifth podium finish in the six races.

However, he had 13 points in Phoenix, 10 in Anaheim II, and 16 in Anaheim III.
