Goaltender Jason Kasdorf is also headed to the Buffalo Sabres in the big trade that went down minutes ago. The Sabres will have to sign Kasdorf, as he is an unsigned player.
Yet, he has never played in an NHL game as the 22-year-old is a junior on the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute men’s ice hockey team. With RPI, he has a 9-14 record with a 2.94 save percentage in 1,266 minutes and 22 seconds.
He hasn’t won a college game since 3-0 against Cornell Big Red on January 17th. RPI has a 9-20-1 record and is on a four-game losing streak.
The Jets took Kasdorf in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft with the 157th overall pick in the sixth round.
It is shocking that Kasdorf did not sign with the Jets, as he was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
He is just 22-years-old, and could be signed by an entry-level contract with the Sabres moving forward.
