The UFC has been facing a lot of criticism as of late following the failed PED and drug tests by Anderson Silva and Jon “Bones” Jones in recent weeks. Jones failed a test after taking cocaine before his match with Daniel Cormier to begin in January.

At the end of last month, Silva failed two tests leading up to his fight with Nick Diaz at the end of January. After these failed tests, the UFC announced tougher PED tests beginning on July 1st, 2015.

This is the first time in California MMA history that this has happened. The California State Athletic Commission is footing the entire bill, which is expected to be very expensive.

The competitors will receive the urine test before their fights. Afterward, before they leave the Staples Center, they will be blood tested.

Should a fighter be caught, they could be fined or suspended.

In the main card, Rousey will face Cat Zingano. In the co-main event, Holly Holm will face Raquel Pennington.
