Cunningham sent to the Stampede in a trade with the 87ers

The Idaho Stampede has acquired guard Jared Cunningham this morning. In exchange, forward Joel Wright will be heading to the Delaware 87ers.

The trade is pending both players pass their physicals.

Cunningham was the 24th overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers. Shortly after being drafted, he was dealt to the Dallas Mavericks.

In 2013, he was dealt to the Atlanta Hawks. He has also spent time with the Sacramento Kings and the Los Angeles Clippers, before signing a contract with the 87ers in January.

He’ll wear No. 15 for the Stampede. He was averaging 17.4 points, 3.0 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 1.4 steals in 35.9 minutes per game with the Delaware NBA D-League franchise.

Wright had 16.6 points, 6.95 rebounds, 2.05 assists, 1.21 steals, and 0.8 blocks per game in 37 games. The 25-year-old is in his first season in the NBA D-League.
