The Philadelphia Phillies are interested in prospects Luis Severino and Aaron Judge in any potential trade for ace Cole Hamels. The New York Yankees are definitely interested interested in acquiring Hamels.
However, it is up to the two generals managers – Phillies’ Ruben Amaro Jr. and Yankees’ Brian Cashman – to come up on a suitable package to move Hamels to New York. The Big Apple is one of the markets that Hamels would reportedly waive his partial no-trade clause to go to.
While the Phillies are interested in Judge and Severino, Cashman has told CBS Sports MLB Insider Jon Heyman that he hasn’t received a request from Amaro Jr.
Severino is 21-years-old and is regarded as the team’s top prospect. He was 6-5 with a 2.46 ERA and a 1.06 WHIP over 113 1/3 innings, while also having 127 strikeouts to 27 walks.
He was also a part of the SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game last July.
Judge is a young outfielder, who has an offensive upside. He had 17 home runs and 78 RBI’s in 131 games.
